‘Shame on You’: Model Elsa Hosk, 35, Slammed for ‘Disrespectful’ Princess Diana Halloween Costume

Hosk paid homage to the late Princess Diana by recreating one of her most iconic post-separation looks from King Charles III. She wore an elegant, off-the-shoulder black dress that symbolized Diana’s grace and independence, prompting some social media users to question if it was an appropriate Halloween choice.

To complete her look, the 35-year-old model added signature Diana touches: Sheer black tights, classic heels, and a choker with a prominent jewel, capturing the late princess’s bold yet sophisticated style.

She also styled her blonde hair in a chin-length, layered cut reminiscent of Diana’s 90s fashion, and captioned her Instagram post, “Wishing you an ICONIC Halloween🖤.”

Hosk shared a video on Instagram in which she mimicked Diana’s poised walk and gentle head tilt, captioning it “The people’s princess 👑.”

However, her tribute quickly stirred debate among followers. “Beautiful but unethical towards Diana 😔,” one user commented. Another agreed, saying, “This IS just disrespectful! Shame on you [sic].”

For some, dressing as Diana for Halloween felt unsettling. “A bit creepy though. I mean draw inspiration yes, dress up as Diana look alike no [sic]!” expressed one concerned fan.

One follower suggested an alternative, saying, “Dear Elsa, you look wonderful. But Princess Diana is not for Halloween. Halloween is about dressing scary. You could have been Camilla instead.

Others, though, were struck by her resemblance to Diana. “I thought It was Diana 😮 [sic],” said one surprised follower.

Another remarked, “Wooowwww you look just like her,” while an enthusiastic fan commented, “i almost thought Princess Diana come back to life 🔥🔥🔥🔥[sic].” One admirer pointed out, “Omggg! you even nailed the way she would have her head tilted down 🥺.”

Despite the mixed reactions, Hosk remains undeterred, fully embracing the Halloween spirit with her bold tribute to Princess Diana.
